Kids New Favourite Game

These two days the kids have a new favourite game, Online Computer Game.

www.nickjr.com

The games they played today were Dora, Diego and Wonderpets which are all their favourite cartoon characters.

Both occupied my both new and old laptops. *sigh*

Even their Uncle Alex asked for 3 minutes to check his email but both said a big NO. Sticking their hands on the mouse and eyes on the screen.

But at least i finally get to watch my tv / drama without being disturbed.

AND already told the kids no Computer Games allowed on weekdays.

Grannys Are Here

Have been really busy the whole week as the kids' grandparents are here for visit for 10 days. Time sure flies and they are leaving coming Monday morning. The kids of course enjoy their company and speak more mandarin too.

The whole week, first time since married, i am the one preparing and cooking the lunch and dinner.

These are the stuffs i've cooked so far. Don't have the time for the pictures.
  1. Caesar Salad with Four mix Beans
  2. Yee Mien
  3. Noodle Soup
  4. Pan Fried Salmon with ginger
  5. Grilled Salmon with Bulgogi sauce
  6. Pan fried Marlin with Celery
  7. Steamed Snapper (teow cheow style)
  8. Steamed Siky Tofu
  9. Spare ribs with Mushroom soya and honey
  10. Scrambled egg with Beans
  11. Stir Fried Cabbage
  12. Lasagna (for kids)
  13. Spaghetti Bolognaise
We went out for meal a couples times. The best one i like was the Lobster Meal. I am sure Dayi sure misses the Lobster with noodle. It is really solid and yummy. I feel like eating one more time when Mr. Boss is here. How is that sounds, Mr Boss? Just four of us since the kids love the noodle too. Even the picky one Lachie, ate a bowl of noodle. So can imagine how yummy it is right Dayi !!!

The Yum Cha was good as well as there are many of us so we get to eat many many varieties.

The night we made Bak Zhang (glutinous rice dumpling), we ordered pizza and spaghetti carbonara at home. Wanted to go out for meal initially but have to keep an eye on the stove fire as the bak zhang needs 2-3 hours to be cooked.

Here is some of the bak zhang we made. Just frying the ingredients is really tiring. The hardest part i find is the wrapping part. well, maybe my fingers coordination is not so good.

Steamed Fish Fillet with sauce

Ingredients A

500g Fish Head or Fish fillets
2 ginger slices
2 tbsp Shaoxing wine
1 tbsp fried shallot oil

Ingredients B

25g bird's eye chillies
30g ginger
30g garlic cloves

Sauce (mix well)
2 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp Monosodium glutamate (optional)
3 tbsp Thai Chilli sauce
4 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
6 tbsp water

Method
  1. Cook some water in a wok, once boiled, add in Shaoxing wine, ginger slices and Fish head/fillet, cook at low heat until cooked. Dish up, spoon in fried shallot oil
  2. Finely chop the bird's eye chillies, ginger and garlic clove, mix it with sauce mixture, then pour over the cooked fish fillet. Serve at once
The above was the original recipe but i didn't follow exactly as few ingredients i don't have and also too spicy for kids. Ingredients like Chilli sauce, Bird's eye chillies and MSG. The fish sauce i use normal soya sauce instead.

For the second part, i prefer to saute and lighlty brown the ginger and garlic clove til fragrant before i mix with the sauce.

Flu Episode continues....

Mr Boss is here with us. We were planning to go Luna Park last weekend. Too bad, got to postpone the trip. All because of the swine flu outbreak. Don't wanna risk catching it since my immune system is pretty weak now.

Mr Boss bought a few Kids favourite shows like Ben 10, Tom & Jerry and Dora. Kind of expected, these few days Ben 10 shows all the time in our home. Whenever the show starts, both will sure bounce from their comfy couch. One does the dancing and another starts singing. They both just love the song so much. Never fail doing that. Actually, quite a joy to watch them too. One day probably i should film down and so DaYi can have a look too. :)

This weekend, in laws will be coming over for holiday about 10 days. Hopefully i will be fully recovered otherwise will be very very tired.

The coughing was really killing me last night.
