Chocolate Cake

** lachlan can finish this whole piece and even asked for second piece....

haha.. i know the decoration was kind of in a hurry. As by the time i finished baking the cake its already 9.15pm. AND i really ran out of strawberries.. haha.. The kids especially Lachlan was waiting for my cake. Kept asking me whether is the cake ready. When he knew that i'm gonna bake this chocolate cake, he was so happy and excited. Telling his brother that, mommy is going to make his chocolate cake. He even helped me with the whisking. Adding the flour etc. Oh this boy is really chocolate lover.

This is the first time i bake this chocolate cake all by myself. Previously were those instant cake mix. This time, yes, a lot more work but great satisfaction when see my boy loving it so much.

More photos i took this morning. Finally i found this feature of my camera with 'Macro Focus' (all along i have been using standard focus). *very happy* *WINK

Lucas new seed

Its really amazing. Lucas was given a seed by the building manager who always love to play him. He went back to school and told his teacher about the seed he has. His teacher was really helpful giving lucas a small blue container with some good soil/dirt. haha.. i know. i should probably get the poor seed a better home !!!

I brought the container home and lucas then put seed in the soil himself. He was really anxious to see if the seed did grow. Well, of course i am still uncertain if it will actually grow. I told him it takes weeks to grow. He was abit upset. haha

Lucas continues to water the seed whenever he remembers. Then about a week has passed, i was vacuuming the floor today and saw some tiny green leaf appearing. Me too got excited as well immediately call for lucas. Lucas was really thrilled and excited. He was really happy that his seed finally grows...

i wonder what plant is this......

Colour like a clown?

I tried on the new concealer that bought weeks ago and the eyeshadow ~ a blue colour ~

i walked down to the kitchen and see what's the kids reaction

Lachlan

Mommy: Lachlan, how does mommy look today?

Lachlan: *looking at my face, staring at my eyes. *laugh and move away shyly*

Then i turn to Lucas

I was preparing breakfast for lucas and he looked at me

Lucas: Mommy, why is your eyes green colour?

Mommy: dear, that is eye shadow that mommy applied. Is it nice?

Lucas: why you want to colour your eyes like a clown? ~ :S

Mommy: ~~ speechless again ~~~

Spaghetti Bolognaise

Today visited a friend whom i haven't seen for a long time and her baby of 5 mths old. I had a wonderful lunch there cooked by her while i get to play with her baby. Time really flies and luckily i checked the time.

It's 4.15pm. oh gosh, not again!

I cannot be late again to pick up Lucas. The last time i was late, he was angry with me. Not wanting to look at me !! haha and took me quite some time to explain to him why i was late.

Thanks goodness my friend's place wasn't far from his school so i reached there 4.35pm.

Got home almost 5.30pm and had to cook something really fast as kids were hungry. So, why not cook something of Lucas's favourite. He was really happy to have this for dinner. No more grumpy face.

It took me less than 15 mins .. isn't it great! :)

** The picture above was Lucas dinner (it can be equivalent to adult portion). He had that at 6pm and another round at 9pm. He really loves this.....

Pancakes again

Ingredients

60g Plain Flour
2 Free Range Eggs
30g Sugar
1 tbsp Honey (i used Manuka Honey)
1 tsp Bicarbonate Soda
40 ml Milk
Strawberries

I got the recipe from here

I didn't follow exactly the same but the result was good as my lachie enjoyed eating and so is lucas.

Did try to persuade them to let me put some yogurt as topping but they decline. I think will taste even better with the yogurt and strawberry.

This recipe took me slightly more work as i need to whisk the egg, sugar and honey together for approx 1min and put in fridge for 30 mins after adding in the rest of the ingredients

The batter didn't get to cool for 30mins.. i think only 15mins as Lucas was yelling that why must i put in the fridge, he wants to eat NOW.....

so no choice i have to make the pancakes right away. haha

Why my aeroplane like this one......

This is the lego plane that we bought for lucas last year. Now he can build this plane all by himself. Today Lachlan broke the pieces apart when Lucas was in school. of course Lucas was upset but he still patiently re-build the plane again.

Nearly finished with the plane, he came to me

Lucas: mommy, why is it the aeroplane like this one (pic1).

Mommy: (i looked the bottom ~PIC 2) yeah, its like this... three wheels i remember.

Lucas: NOOOooooooo.. its not how i made last time.

Mommy: i dont understand, what do you mean?

Lucas: When i put this aeroplane on the floor, the tail drop on the ground and when i push it, the parts will scratch the floor. The last time i made wasn't like this.

Mommy: well, sorry dear, i really don't know.

Then 5-10 mins later

He came back to me

Lucas: Mommy... look.. (showing me PIC 4)

Mommy: haha.. you added two big wheels

Lucas: * Laughing

These wheels were from other legos box, wasn't part of the aeroplane

Oatmeal Choc Cookies

In my pantry, you bound to find more cookies and chocolates everytime when Mr. Boss is here. This time is no exceptional. Almost every day Lachie will take out the Oreo box (two packets of biscuits inside) from the cupboard. I was thinking, why not make own cookies with more nutritiousness value.

The original recipe doesn't include coco powder. I added it myself since i know Lachie will bound to eat anything that is chocolate. There was once when their Aunt Annie bought back 3 pieces of cakes. Happily showing Lucas and Lachlan. Lucas was very happy of course because there is his favourite Manga Gateau. Whereas, lachie took a glimpse and just walked away. I wonder why. Well, after i took at look inside, very simple. There was no chocolate cake. The 3 pieces were Mango Gateau, Strawberry Gateau and Cheese Cake.

The original recipe included 1/4 cup banana puree and 1/2 cup zucchini puree. Probably if i have put in these two purees, my dough wouldn't be as dry.

Anyway, the end result, not bad. Worth a go as Lucas commented: 好吃!

Ingredient

1 cup plain flour
1/3 cup Coco Powder
1/2 cup oats
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup Raw Sugar Or Brown Sugar
6 tbsp margarine Spread, chilled (i used Olive spread)
1 large egg white
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Coat two baking sheets with cooking spray
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, oats, baking soda, salt and cinnamon and stir to mix
  3. In a large bowl, beat the sugar and margarine with wooden spoon until combined.
  4. Add egg white and stir just to blend.
  5. Add the flour mixture and walnuts, and stir to combine
  6. Drop the dough (size of tablespoon) onto the baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 12 -15 mins.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 4-5 mins then transfer to a rack to cool completely
